º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ awards 40 degrees to December graduates

OMAHA, Neb. – º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ (CSM) presented degrees to 40 students during the winter commencement ceremony on Dec. 18 in the Lied Fitness Center. Of those graduating, 20 graduates received their bachelor's degree, 14 received their master's degree and six received their doctoral degree.

The commencement address was delivered by the Hon. Candice J. Novak. Novak is the Separate Juvenile Court judge, District 4, in Douglas County and graduated from CSM in 2001. CSM President Dr. Maryanne Stevens, RSM, presented the degrees to the graduates. Before the graduation ceremony, a Baccalaureate Mass was held in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.

Graduation with honors is based on the undergraduate student's quality point average for º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ courses only. To be eligible for honors, the student must complete at least 65 semester hours of CSM courses at the bachelor's degree level or 37 semester hours at the associate's degree level.

For Bachelor's Degrees

Summa cum laude: a student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.9

Magna cum laude: a student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.7

Cum laude: a student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.5

For Associate's Degrees

With highest honors: a student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.9

With high honors: a student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.7

With honors: A student must obtain a quality point average of at least 3.5
