Campus Safety and Security

We want all of our students, faculty, staff and visitors to be safe on our campus. That’s why we provide 24/7 campus security. WeÌýpatrol the campus regularly, enforce º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ policiesÌýand continually assess our safety and security practices, policies and requirements.

All campus officers are trained to respond to emergencies such as fire, medical illness and injuries and criminal activity. ÌýWe work closely Ìýwith local law enforcement, fire department and EMS personnel. We alsoÌýpatrol the campus on foot, with bicyclesÌýand in motorized carts. In addition to campus patrols, our department has many safety programs in place, including a whistler alert program, fire safety program, clean car campaign, "If I was a Thief" programÌýand Bystander Intervention.

Emergency Security Notifications

We are pleased to offer text alerts to all students, faculty and staff in case of inclement weather, campus emergencies, safety alerts and necessary all-campus announcements. You will have the opportunity to sign up when you enroll.

Located in the Hixson-Lied Commons Building Room 144, the Safety and Security Department also oversees all parking enforcement on campus, as well as the emergency notifications system.ÌýTo gain immediate access to Safety and Security staff at any time, call 402-670-8848.

Access to Campus Facilities

All campus facilities are appropriately secured, monitored and patrolled by our staff. Persons wishing to enter any of our buildings after hours must present the appropriate º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ identification.

Safe Walk Program

The º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Safety and Security Department personnel will escort students, faculty, staff and visitors on campus at any time to/from their vehicles to/from any location on campus.
