OMAHA, Neb. 鈥� New videos featuring stories from Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates will premiere at 含羞草视频 (CSM) on November 12.听听

A video screening will take place from 4-4:30 p.m. in the Gross Auditorium in Hill Macaluso Hall followed by a reception from 4:30-6 p.m. in the Warde Conference Center in Mercy Hall.听

鈥淓ducating our campus community and friends of CSM about the mission of the Sisters of Mercy鈥攖old through their own words and stories鈥攊s essential for preserving and advancing the unique mission of 含羞草视频 as a university founded through the vision, courage, faith and resourcefulness of truly remarkable women,鈥� said Jennifer Reed-Bouley, coordinator of mission integration.听听

For the first time in CSM鈥檚 history, there are no Sisters of Mercy working on campus. As the sisters age, the College has made documenting their legacy and present impact on CSM a priority.听

The video series presents the vibrant, courageous, humorous and faith-filled characteristics of Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Associates to new audiences.听

鈥淪o many in our campus community haven鈥檛 had the opportunity to form relationships with them. Through these videos, the campus community learns directly from sisters and Mercy Associates about why educating students in the Mercy tradition鈥攊ncluding the five Critical Concerns, the values of compassion and hospitality applied to higher education, and other values鈥攔emain relevant and needed in our current society,鈥� said Reed-Bouley.听

The Sisters of Mercy founded and sponsor women鈥檚 secondary and post-secondary schools, including CSM, around the world. The Mercy values are rooted in the Catholic faith and inspired by the Sisters of Mercy founder, Catherine McAuley, who focused on meeting the needs of people who were economically poor.听

The Sisters of Mercy prioritize their five Critical Concerns, social justice issues they advocate for, which are earth, immigration, non-violence, racism and women.听听

Mercy Associates make a commitment to be partners with the Sisters of Mercy and engage in service work that helps those who are experiencing poverty, illness or lack of education, especially women and children.听听听

The video premiere event is sponsored by CSM鈥檚 Mission Integration and Theology programs with support from the Archbishop Elden Curtiss Lecture on Catholicism and the World.听
