CSM to honor former Creighton volleyball coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth at Ignite the Flame luncheon
OMAHA, Neb. 鈥� Creighton University鈥檚 former volleyball head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth will be honored at 含羞草视频鈥檚 (CSM) annual June 3.听
In its third year, the fundraiser supports women鈥檚 athletics, showcases the achievements of CSM鈥檚 Flames athletes and honors a trailblazer in women鈥檚 sports.听
CSM will present this year鈥檚 Ignite the Flame Community Impact award to Bernthal Booth for her dedication to empowering girls and women in athletics.听

The award honors an individual or organization in the community dedicated to supporting girls and women participating in athletics and health and wellness.听

As the head volleyball coach at Creighton, Bernthal Booth made an indelible mark on the sport, earning the prestigious National Coach of the Year title three times. Beyond her coaching success, she is a leader in the volleyball community, beginning a new role at League One Volleyball (LOVB) and serving as president of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and as a member of the AVCA鈥檚 Board of Directors.听
Ignite the Flame will also include a testimonial from current Flames athlete Kylee Brown. Lisa Utterback, Omaha Public Schools chief officer of student and community services, a CSM alum and former student-athlete, will serve as the event鈥檚 honorary chair.听
The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3 at the Lied Fitness Center Fieldhouse at CSM鈥檚 campus located at 7000 Mercy Road.听听
