American-Scandinavian Foundation’sÌý 2017 Spring Gala took place on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the Metropolitan Club in New York City. ÌýAs always, the Gala was a festive and memorable evening. The focus of this year’s event was a tribute to Finland on the 100^th Anniversary of its independence.

Highlights included presentation of the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Gold Award to the Honorable John F. Kerry, United States’ 68^th Secretary of State for his work on a wide range of global issues including nuclear proliferation, climate change, and humanitarian crises; the º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ Award for Distinguished Public Service to Finnish Nobel Laureate, Bengt Holmström for his work in Economics; and presentation of the Niels Poulson Award to Linda Nordberg, a dedicated º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓƵ trustee, former Vice Chairman for Finland, and Vice Chairman for the U.S.
