º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ’s award program for study and research abroad has been the Foundation’s most long-standing commitment to educational exchange. During the past 100 years, over 4,000 fellowships and grants have been given to Americans in the Nordic region (Denmark, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sápmi, and Sweden) and Scandinavians in the US engaged in study, research, or creative arts projects.
In 2026, 31 American Fellows were granted over $277,390Ìý in total funding.

For Current º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Fellows
AllÌýº¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Fellows are to provide updates about the progress of their projectsÌýby emailing grants@amscan.orgÌý1-2 of the following reports:
Interim Report (For year-long projects only) Must be submitted in the middle of the projectÌýtimelineÌýby every American Fellow who is spending more than six months abroad.
Final Narrative Report (For all projects)
Must be submitted by all º¬Ðß²ÝÊÓÆµ Fellows no later than 60 days after the end of the fellowship period.
